There are many ways to measure the flow of the medium through the pipeline, but the most widely used and common is the differential pressure flowmeter. It is composed of throttling device and multi-parameter transmitter or differential pressure transmitter together with the secondary table, the throttling device is a differential pressure measurement component, people use it in the pipeline to make the fluid pressure difference, the use of the pressure guide tube before and after the throttling device produced by the differential pressure transfer to the multi-parameter transmitter or differential pressure transmitter, and then input to the secondary instrument, It shows the instantaneous flow or cumulative flow of the fluid in the pipe. Throttling device has a long history and has been standardized both at home and abroad. The throttling device includes standard orifice plate, nozzle, non-standard orifice plate, etc. Can measure the flow of liquid, steam, gas, it is widely used in petroleum, chemical, metallurgy, electric power, light industry and other sectors.

 

Working principle

When the fluid filled with pipe flows through the throttling part in the pipe, the flow rate will form a local contraction at the throttling part, so the flow rate increases, the static pressure decreases, and the pressure difference is generated before and after the throttling part. The larger the fluid flow rate, the larger the pressure difference, so that the flow rate can be measured according to the pressure difference. This measurement method is based on the flow continuity equation (law of conservation of mass) and Bernoulli equation (law of conservation of energy). (The pressure difference depends not only on the flow rate but also on many other factors. For example, when the form of throttling device or the physical properties of the fluid in the pipeline (density, viscosity), the pressure difference produced at the same flow rate is different.) So by measuring the differential pressure, the flow rate can be measured.

Structure type

Flange pressure standard orifice plate: belongs to the standard orifice plate. This form is widely used in the oil refining system.

 

Standard orifice plate: It belongs to standard orifice plate. The pressure taking mode is pipeline pressure taking. The center of the upstream pressure taking hole is located at one times the inner diameter of the pipeline in front of the orifice plate, and the center of the downstream pressure taking hole is located at a place half of the inner diameter of the pipeline from the rear end face of the orifice plate.

 

Nozzles: Nozzles are divided into long neck nozzles, ISA-1932B standard nozzles and non-standard nozzles. Its pressure loss is small, mainly used in power industry main steam flow measurement and flow control detection system.

 

Embedded (integral) orifice plate: a non-standard orifice plate. For measuring fluid in 10 mm to 50 mm diameters.

 

Double orifice plate: a non - standard orifice plate. It is composed of two standard orifice plates installed in a straight pipe at a certain distance from each other. According to the direction of the flow beam, the front orifice plate is called the auxiliary orifice plate, and the back orifice plate is called the main orifice plate. The section ratio of the auxiliary orifice plate is larger than that of the main orifice plate m. The two orifice plates form a nozzle similar to that with liquid wall, which is used for the flow measurement of low Reynolds number fluid or high viscosity fluid.

 

Round hole plate: a non-standard hole plate. It is suitable for the measurement of the fluid flow of dry and dirty, or with bubble precipitation, or containing solid particles, and the measurement accuracy is low.

 

High pressure lens orifice plate: It belongs to standard orifice plate. High mechanical strength, excellent material, good high temperature and high pressure resistance. Suitable for all kinds of high temperature, high pressure liquid, gas or superheated steam flow measurement with pressure greater than 20MPa.
